This lap quilt is made of just six pieces, bands of teals and neon yellow and a big pink floral Liberty of London print. Minimal piecing lets the quilting texture shine: sets of three hand-quilted lines criss-cross the quilt, bisecting three hand-quilted circles. This combined with the machine quilting creates a delicious texture, perfect for a fire pit night, knitting by the tv, or draping on an arm chair.

This quilt is somewhere between traditional patchwork and wholecloth (which means no patchwork, all quilting). I love how it plays with color while highlighting the textures created by the hand- and machine-quilting.

All of my handmade quilts are made with 100% cotton materials from the fabric to the batting and every thread used to hold it together. It’s important to me that my quilts are fully machine washable and can be tumble dried. Quilts should be used and loved, and that means they’ll also have to be washed. After the first wash the quilt will crinkle and have more texture, ready for curling up with. Your quilt will ship with care instructions.
